Episode 1
Snaggle leaned against the wall as he watched the girls almost form a line in front of him. They were ready. Ready for anything. They whispered to each other, knowing not to interrupt Snaggle as he prepared the juice. Snaggle filled the syringe, he looked at the girls. He sniffed as the women’s perfume filled the room. His sense of smell was stronger than a normal wolf, the loss of one of his eye’s increased his sense of smell, and his hearing. He needed it, he was blind in his left eye. The fight that made him alpha of the Northside of Porte City, didn’t come without a loss. His left eye, patched now, but the loss of it only made the wolf that much more intimidating. He ran the northside and ran it ruthless. He was getting older, but he still never ran from a fight or a payday. He injected himself first. He felt the rush, the rush of ease, the rush of satisfaction as the drug entered his bloodstream. He didn’t moan, he didn’t react at all, he was one that never showed relief, satisfaction, or joy. He didn’t show any weakness. He filled the syringe again and looked up at Mona. The only human woman he had working for him. He looked at her. She waited in anticipation as the needle became one with her skin. The other two girls watched and begged for their turn as he filled the syringe again, then again to satisfy the other two girls.
The light was leaving, the night was coming, the second-floor apartment was almost completely dark. Snaggle stood up, the effects of the drug were at full swing as he stood and looked down at the girls in their own personal heavens. He looked at Mona. He loved being with her. He loved that he could have sex with a human. It made him feel more powerful. Humans still looked down on the animal race, and every time he entered her, he made sure she knew who the boss was. He licked his lips, as he nodded at her to get up. She stood up, almost falling as she did. The run-down apartment had shit all over the floor, she stumbled as she walked over to him.
“Open the window. It is stuffy in here.” He said as he watched her every step anticipating what he was going to do to her.
She complied, she slowly walked over to the window. She opened it, and felt the cool breeze hit her as she did. She stood there for a second, until Snaggle interrupted her. “Get over here. I want you before you girls go out tonight.”
She turned around and walked back to her master.
The other girls looked up at Mona, they giggled with envy as she walked past them and headed to the room. Snaggle looked at his phone, it was Eight-thirty. He looked back at the girls. “Twenty minutes, then it is time to work.”
“Ahh! Really daddy. We have to work tonight?” Felina asked as she looked at Snaggle with her yellow, feline eyes.
“What I say?” Snaggle said as his lips curled and he showed his teeth. The sparkle of his two gold front teeth, glimmered in the dark room.
Felina knew not say another word. She just looked back at the floor, not wanting to upset the dominant alpha.
Snaggle walked back into the room. He sniffed the air, and knew that Mona had removed her clothes. He shut the door behind him as he entered.
“They will be down in five minutes.” Snaggle hung up his phone. He opened the door. The cigarette smoke hit his senses as Felina and Lammy were still on the floor. He looked at the girls, Lammy, a beautiful sexy lamb was trying to get up before she felt the wrath of Snaggle. Felina had already started to get up. Snaggle then sniffed the air. He moved his head towards the window. He sniffed again. He slowly walked over to the window. He looked out, nobody was in the alley. “Hmm, a Leporidae.”
“A what?” Lammy said loud as her voice struck a nerve in Snaggle.
“A RABBIT!” Snaggle snapped back.
Snaggle turned around.
He saw the figure in the dark room. His one eye had to adjust before he could focus on this new body in his space.
“Leporidae, damn I haven’t heard that term in a long time.”
The girls jumped, as this new voice startled them.
Snaggle wasn’t startled. He wasn’t scared.
“What do you want? The girls will be outside in a second.”
Cotton looked around, the two girls looked back at him, trying to look sexy.
“Nah, I am good. I am here for you.” Cotton replied as he moved closer to Snaggle.
“Ahhh!” Felina mimicked Cotton. “He wants you Snaggle, not us.”
The other females laughed.
Snaggle growled as he looked at Felina.
Cotton stepped a little closer. Snaggle growled louder, warning Cotton. Cotton stopped.
“I don’t know of many rabbits who walk this part of town at night. You know, without getting ripped in two.”
“Me either, but then again, I am not like many rabbits.” The tall slim rabbit responded.
“So, you must be Cotton Slim. I have heard of you.”
The room was now engulfed with darkness. Cotton had a hard time seeing his surroundings. Snaggle was still in front of the window, so Cotton could see Snaggle’s silhouette. “I am Cotton Slim. Now that we are introduced, I have a job to do.”
“Oh yeah, what is that job?”
Cotton saw the sparkle of the gold teeth as Snaggle spoke. “You know why I am here.”
“Let me guess, you are here to try and kill me.”
“Yeah you guessed right.”
“Hehehe.” Then a growl that felt as if it caused the room to shake came from the wolf’s soul.
Cotton felt the footsteps behind him. Mona tackled the rabbit, a move Cotton wasn’t expecting. She knocked Cotton to the floor, then Cotton felt footsteps all around him as he quickly checked to see if his gun was still in his holster, on his side. He saw the paws of Snaggle running towards him against the wood floor, as he quickly jumped in the air, away from the wolf’s path. Cotton, in mid-air pulled out his gun, and fired once, hitting Mona in the head.
She fell to the floor limp.
Cotton landed back on the floor, and saw that Snaggle was across from him, where Cotton fell earlier. Cotton held his gun towards Snaggle.
The room was still with anticipation. The calm before the storm.
“Let me guess. Rider sent you.”
Cotton didn’t reply.
“That bitch.”
Cotton knew, the word bitch in any species is disrespectful. In the wolf, canine species, it meant death, and if you used that word towards anyone, you were fighting to the death.
“He wants alpha, but he sends a fucking rabbit to kill me, scared to fight.” Snaggle looked down to the floor then back to Cotton. “After I kill you, I am killing him tonight!” Snaggle said as he rushed towards Cotton.
Snaggle came fast, Cotton, almost had no time to react. He quickly jumped in the air, as he did, Snaggle clipped his feet with his front paw. Cotton flipped from the blow and landed on his back on the hard wooden floor. Snaggle quickly turned around and pounced on Cotton. Cotton was trapped. He felt the claws scrape his mid-section. He used his strong back legs and pushed them against the wolf’s stomach, Snaggle didn’t budge. Snaggle’s over-sized paw, that was human like with long claws, punctured Cotton’s stomach. Cotton knew this was going to be a fight, but didn’t realize how ferocious, and quick Snaggle was. He misjudged the strength, the know-how of this beast. Cotton felt the pressure, he knew he had to be calm to get out of this.
Cotton was able to finally push Snaggle off with his legs. Snaggle fell back, not for long, but just enough for cotton to jump back. Cotton raised his gun, and as Snaggle lunged forward again, Cotton let out three shots. Snaggle stopped and hit the ground with a large thud. His body was motionless, and his last breaths escaped him. Cotton, shot two more times, making sure this beast was dead. He kicked Snaggle’s corpse, and no movement came after. Cotton looked at Lammy and Felina. Lammy looked back at him. “They will kill you.” She said as she looked up at him from her position on the floor.
“They won’t know.” He said as he let his last bullet escape from his revolver.
Felina saw Lammy die. She quickly searched in her jumbled feline mind, for a way to get out of this certain death. She looked at Cotton reloading his gun. “You my daddy now?”
Cotton finished reloading his gun, took a breath, then replied. “Nah. I am more of a dog person.” Then he shot one final time. Killing her also.
Cotton made his way through the city. He knew word of Snaggle’s death would travel fast. He wanted to get to Rider’s place before the news hit him. He wanted Rider to hear it from him. He didn’t like Rider. He thought Rider was a fraud. He knew Rider grew up privileged, and only acted like he was a heavy wolf. He knew Snaggle was real and Snaggle ran these streets with authority. These streets were going to eat Rider up, and mess up the balance that these streets needed. Cotton knew that Snaggle dying was going to create a free for all for alpha, and really change the landscape, but money is money, and you do what you have to do, after all it would probably lead to more money for Cotton, with every species trying to lay claim to Porte City.
He arrived at the building Rider was in. He walked to the apartment, and knocked on the door. One of Riders men, opened the door and led him to the room Rider was in. Cotton walked in, the wolf shut the door and left Cotton, Rider, and Loose; Rider’s second in the room.
Cotton nodded at Loose as he walked up to Rider. Rider was sitting behind a desk. Rider’s fur was almost silver. He looked clean, unlike Snaggle. He looked as if he was a different breed. His green eyes stared at Cotton as Cotton started to talk. “It is done.”
“You killed him?” Rider asked as he stood up.
“Yes.” Cotton replied as his hand moved close to his chrome revolver. He knew this was the part, where if he was to be double crossed, it would happen when the money was to be discussed.
Rider looked at Loose, who was behind Cotton, then back at Cotton. He turned around, and grabbed an envelope. And handed it to Cotton. With his left hand, he grabbed the envelope. His right hand stayed close to his side. He felt the weight of the envelope, it seemed right. He brought his right hand up, and counted the money quickly. He then placed the envelope in his belt, next to his holster.
“What did he say?”
“Who?” Cotton replied.
Rider looked at Cotton, “Snaggle.”
“He said he wasn’t surprised. He said you were too scared to fight him for alpha, so you had me kill him.”
Loose stepped up next to Cotton. “See I told you. The streets are going to look at us weak. You should of fought him, or let me of fought!”
Rider growled. A growl that was no-where as fierce as Snaggle’s. “He is dead! I will be alpha, and nobody can say shit!”
“I told you.” Loose said as he shook his head.
Loose looked like Snaggle. Rough, tough, and a size that looked dangerous. Cotton looked at him. Cotton then looked at Rider. He pulled his gun up, He let two rounds escape the revolver, both hitting Rider between the eyes. Loose jumped back as Rider fell forward and landed over his desk. Blood poured from his head. Cotton turned and looked at Loose.
Loose didn’t move. Cotton placed his gun back into his holster. He started to walk towards the door. “You welcome.”
The door opened and three of Rider’s men ran in.
“For what?” Loose asked, still in amazement.
“You are Alpha now.” Cotton said as he stood in front of the other wolves.
Loose shook his head in agreement. Then looked at the three new members of his pack.
“It’s okay. Let him leave.” He turned his head and looked at Rider’s dead body. “Clean this shit up.
Cotton started to walk out, he knew he did the streets a favor. He turned to Loose, and Loose returned the look, he nodded his head in acceptance, and then watched the rabbit walk out.
